Pregnancy…human or fetus?
The pro-choice person stated “a fetus isn’t a baby.” Oh, really? Someone is confused, because the police in Oxford, MS weren’t on the same page when they found a “fetus” laying in someone’s yard. Or, how about the “fetus” that was recently found in a freezer? Why charge anyone with a crime when we’re supposed to believe that the “mass of cells” isn’t really human?
I tried to remember that last time when I heard a pregnant female refer to that mass as “my fetus.” It’s referred to as a “my baby” and the female is called “a mother.” Can a person be a “mother” of a “non-human fetus.”
The argument put forth by the “it’s not human” speaker is that a woman should have a “choice” about being pregnant. Please understand that I will in no way diminish the trauma of a pregnancy occurring as a result of force…that is criminal. However, rape cases account for a very, very small percentage of pregnancies and the actions that result in a pregnancy are fairly obvious. Becoming pregnant, or taking the risk of becoming pregnant, is a choice.
Let’s get real! In the vast majority of cases the issues are “temporary pleasure” and “convenience.” A human fetus is a priceless creation designed by the Creator. The little human deserves the protection of the law and the protection of his or her mother. If we, as a nation, diminish the value of one stage/state of human life, what will protect humanity at other “inconvenient” stages? What about the Alzheimer’s patient? What about the child who is born with mental or physical limitations?
In this world of few absolutes, the words of an ancient King…the spokesman for the Heavenly King…end the argument for those who claim to be Christian Believers. Or…is believing the Sacred Words another “choice” to be made as a matter of convenience?
“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!” (Psalm 139:14-17).
Please make a “choice” and please make that choice for life.
